STORM Imogen left her mark in the Cotswolds on Sunday evening when almost the whole gable end of a cottage in Stow shuttered to the ground

Highways cordoned off part of the road around the two-bed stone end-terraced cottage at Beaumayne Terrace, off Back Walls Road, to protect passers by from potential falling masonry. A power line was also brought down as the gable section collapsed, leaving just the inner section of the house wall and beams exposed and tonnes of stone and rubble strewn across the road.

Wind gusts of 80 mph had been recorded in parts of the south west in the evening.

A spokesman for Gloucestershire County Council said highways staff had been out to make the area safe and closed the area off, though the road is open at both ends for access.
