A CELEBRITY judge will pick the best pooch at this year's Adlestrop Open Day Dog Show.

BBC radio presenter Sybil Ruscoe will judge the entries at the annual event on Sunday, June 19, and visitors can enjoy plenty of other entertainment on the day too.

The annual open day is a big event for dog lovers and Sybil, who presents Farming Today on BBC Radio 4, is following in the footsteps of former judges Alexander Armstrong and Robert Hardy.

She said: "Adlestrop Open Day is one of the highlights of the Cotswold summer calendar. It’s always a fantastic day with so much to see and do.

"My dog Billy has picked up a few rosettes in the dog show in the past but this year he’ll have to watch from the sidelines."

The Open Day gets underway at noon and includes stalls, teas in the village hall, open gardens, a flower display in the church and tours of Richard Phillips’ Racing Stables.

This year the village is fundraising for Adlestrop Church, the Great Western Air Ambulance and local broadband fund.
