PROMOTED Bredon Star hit back in a thrilling second-half to win 25-15 at title-chasing Widden Old Boys in their Gloucester Division One opener.
After an awkward bounce, Old Boys ran in the first try under the posts and went over again from a close-range maul to make it 12-0 at half-time.
A heated half-time team talk followed and Star came out fired up.
The hard work paid off when Mike Jordan scored under the posts and converted.
Shaken Widden collected two yellow cards and Jordan kicked two penalties.
Dodge Antonelli ran in a fine try to put the visitors 18-15 in front before Star had two more efforts ruled out.
Then Stuart Doust took a quick penalty, feeding man-of-the-match Stefan Lasota for an 80-yard run.
Play broke down and quick ball provided Jordan with the opportunity to score and convert the final try.
