TWO goals in extra-time fired Pershore Town to a 3-1 win against Atherstone Town in a hard-fought Les James Challenge Cup tie which saw eight players booked.

Atherstone took the lead after 15 minutes when Danny Gaunt cut inside and dispatched a left-foot shot beyond the despairing dive of Town keeper Andrew Yarnold.

Town drew level just before the break after Steve Webb released George Coley, who placed the ball under the advancing keeper.

Town took the lead in the 104th minute when Webb pounced to score after a move involving Connor Trotman and Coley. Steve Roche put the result beyond doubt in the final minute.

An eighth-minute goal from Josh Griffin could not stop Stourport Swifts from a 2-1 defeat at table-topping Long Eaton United in the Midland League Premier Division.

But there was better news for Westfields, who sealed a 3-0 home victory against Kir - by Muxloe. Nathan Lewars, Marcus Palmer and Joel Ed - wards netted for Westfields.

Second-placed Littleton crashed to a 3-0 home defeat against Bromsgrove Sport - ing in Division One. Chris Conway fired Sporting ahead in the 14th minute and late goals from Sam Wills and Aaron Daniels clinched their victory.

Dan Herbert, Bryan Craven and Sam Rathbone led Mal - vern Town to a 3-1 home win against bottom-of-the-table Shifnal Town in the West Midlands League Premier Division.

Tom Dawson and Anthony Robbins scored in Pegasus Juniors’ 2-2 draw with Shaw - bury United. Dave Price and Paul Jones were on target for Wellington, who were held to a 2-2 at home to Ellesmere Rangers.
