MORE than 100 competitors tackled the Peopleton Duathlon with a blustery wind making the cycling section tricky.
Worcester Triathlon Club ran the event in otherwise sunny and dry conditions from the village hall and raised funds for St Richard’s Hospice.
Four-mile and two-mile runs sandwiched an 18-mile bike course in the standard event.
Richard Shepherd won the men’s race in one hour 15 minutes 55 seconds, followed by Scott O’Neill (1.17.17) and Mathew Smith (1.21.35).
Jessica Harvey (1.33.11) took the women’s honours ahead of Melanie Clark (1.34.48) and Rachel Ward (1.36.20).
Malvern Triathlon Club were team victors.
Over the shorter distance, Ed Dursley (57.38) and Debbie Bradley (55.25) impressed.
