SECOND-placed Pershore kept up the pressure on leaders Streetly with an eight-wicket crushing of Eastnor in Birmingham League Division Three.

The Vale outfit dismissed the Herefordshire side for just 85.

Taylor Pugh (4-5) and Matt Brace (4-24) induced a collapse after Eastnor reached 64-2 and appeared to be in little trouble.

After an opening stand of 40 between Joe Taylor (25) and Adam Wiffen (23 not out), Liam Ridings came to the crease to hit an unbeaten 32 from 31 balls to ease Pershore to victory.

It kept them level on points with Worcestershire rivals Astwood Bank, who defeated Lichfield by 143 runs.

Tom Underhill (72), Pete Alexander (58) and Alex Robinson (55) boosted Bank to 250-9 with Lewis Peat taking 6-73 for the visitors.

At 76-9, the game seemed set for an early finish but Lewis Peat (18no) and Adam Peat (10) dealt with 121 balls between them to thwart Bank until the end of the 51st over.

Tom Harris (4-42) struck for the fourth time to clinch the win for the county side.
